A little less than two years ago, I decided to stop merely living and instead start THRIVING.
I was living a life of loneliness as I searched for acceptance in external sources. I measured my worthiness by the number on the scale and the amount of calories I consumed in a day. It took a cancer scare at 23 to shake me awake and open my eyes to a world of gratitude and happiness. It helped me to understand that eating healthy IS a reward and working out IS a privilege. I am now grateful for the body I have and all of its power and strength.
I am sometimes frustrated as I want to be the perfect image of health but the truth is that I am a work in progress. Health looks different every day. All I know is looking at these photos of my nearly 8 inch tumor and the incision from my surgery to remove it, I am reminded of the pain, determination, and gratitude for how far I have come. After a diagnosis of an auto-immune disorder, endometriosis, a follow up surgery 6 months ago, and intensive hormone treatments, my journey continues. I follow an anti-inflammatory vegan diet and maintain a low-impact active lifestyle to manage the worst of my chronic pain symptoms and inflammation to live a happy, healthy life.
If a health issue has ever held you back, know that you are NOT alone, and know that I also have good days and bad days. The important part to remember is that attitude is a CHOICE, you can choose to have a pity party or choose to live the most fabulously awesome life as possible. Make everyday a reason to fight back, give it your best and forget the rest. I’m in your corner and I BELIEVE in you!! I’m here for you and you are NEVER alone. Next week I have a clean eating bootcamp beginning where I would love to not only show you how to eat clean but offer some recipes and suggestions of eating an anti-inflammatory diet for optimal health. Please add me at Facebook.com/JennLStevens and send me a quick message that you’d like to join me! <3
